999

The other day, we were eating at this place in sembawang road, near the chong pang nasi lemak. Just as we were about to leave, we heard a commotion and a lot of pple stood up near the entrance. Turns out there was a fight! Actually, more like a beating. 4-5 guys, some wearing motor helmets, were beating up 1 guy, who ran towards the shop. The attackers ruthlessly beat him up, one of them using his helmet. My view of the fight was restricted due to some pple and walls blocking me, and i dunno wat happened to the victim. Then all of a sudden a lot of female onlookers shrieked and ran and I saw that one of the attackers drew out a parang! Like wtf, and I saw that he slashed the victim before the whole lot of them started running. Apparantly there was blood on the floor/road after the whole lot (including the victim surprisingly) made off in the direction of the HDB flats.

Now i didnt know if anyone called the police, so i whipped out my phone, and for the first time in my life, dialed 999.

Called connected.

*expecting an operator, the next words i hear were:

"thank you for calling the Emergency hotline, all our operators are busy at the moment...."

I went "WTF?" and then immediately the call got tru. Heng i think they didnt hear the wtf.

So like i made a police report over the phone, and the guy said a patrol is being dispatched to the scene. I wonder if they managed to get anyone. The next morning at 8am an inspector from AMK police station called me asking for more info, like whether i saw their motorcycle number plate, which i didn't. I have no idea what happened to them and the last thing i heard from the police is the case is under investigation.

Last thoughts: i didnt know you can still see parang-bearing motorcycle hooligans in singapore!
