Original Torture

Ever wonder why piratebay flourish more than , say, original dvd sales?
You know how they always tell u that the original's quality is better, and that u get crystal clear video with spanking new packaging? Although in real life, usually what u get is a big empty dvd casing with almost nothing inside, and a dvd full of drm and crap u cant skip? Really, how is that better?

The other day i tried to watch a original DVD - (which is not often i actually buy one):

1. I put in the DVD into the drive and play. So far so good.
2. Plays FBI warning that i cant skip.
3. Plays copyright notice that i cant skip.
4. Plays other movie advertisement trailer that i still cant skip
5. Plays DVD intro that i also cannot fucking skip. wth!!!
6. finally hit the fucking main screen
7. Enters the movie, and plays the whole intro credit thingy
8. Fuck i cant drag the goddamned slider to skip scenes - i either have to fast forward (which means i still end up watching it) or jump to the next scene altogether. Why is dragging the slider banned!?!? WTF!
9. Gets pissed off.

Change movie to NOT a DVD:
1. Open movie.avi
2. no fbi warning, no copyright notice, no trailers, no fucking intro, no fucking drm to prevent me from dragging the file to harddisk to prevent noisy dvdrom spinning.
3. Watch and enjoy crystal clear movie - and after that i can move the movie to any device and convert it to any format i like.


Now isnt that easy? Also, some of the "original" china DVD dun come with all those crap either.

Who ever said original disc is better is clearly delusional - fill a disc with crap and then complain pple dun buy them. What a genius idea!
