Park and run

The other day I was eating at this kopitiam along upper serangoon road, it was at a busy junction, and many pple go there to eat Punggol nasi lemak. Despite being a 3 lane road, that area for notorious for drivers parking along the side of the road, effectively making that very busy road a 2 lane road, with buses and taxis and cars weaving in and out of the obstructions caused by these assholes.

To alleviate this problem, the LTA painted the road side a double zig zag line : meaning to say, its a no-stop, no-waiting, no-alighting zone, and an offense would consists for $120 fine and 3 demerit points. (instead of the usual $50-70 fine) 

So that day I went there and eat and the road was relatively clear of traffic as no one seems to wanted to...or dared to...park there. (since no one else did) Halfway tru my meal, a lexus driver decided to "stop" there with hazard lights on... i thot he was going to tabao.... no leh, he (and his grp) sat down and proceed to order steamboat. Like WTF can, that single car alone is causing vehicles having to switch to middle lane just to clear this obstruction. Why is it all these "branded" big cars drivers are so obnoxious. As if to prove a point, later on, vehicles started to park there following this douchbag's lead. What came next are a C class merc, then followed by a 5 series BMW, then a Honda odessey. All these rich pple cannot walk 3 mins from the car park issit!? Effectively they jam out the roads as buses and taxis try to merge traffic causing lots of honking and screeching. I buay tahan liao, so I called the LTA illegal parking hotline. (its "1800-call-lta" btw, lol) A lady on the phone then assured me an "enforcement unit" is on the way.

So we waited to see if anyone really came. 10mins....15mins.... boh lang leh.
Those douchebags are happily enjoying their "roadside" meal despite the huge traffic obstruction they had caused... and it gets worse as NOW 1 driver are waiting BESIDE those illegally parked vehicles, effectively blocking 2 lanes of roads! Ultimate can? No sense of guilt meh, blocking 2 lanes of roads leh! The honking got really bad and the entire road is really jammed now. As i was calling LTA for the 2nd time at around the 20th min.... finally...a police unit arrived!

But its neither Traffic police nor LTA enforcement units (you know, those white motorcycles with LTA on them...)... its those neighborhood police kind... I guess they just had to dispatch the nearest, and whoever is on duty then huh. They came with their lights blaring bright, impossible to miss, and the drink stall runner was shouting "LTA lai liao!" Regrettably those assholes didnt get summon-ed, as the police just wanted to chase them all away... And thus making the road was clear again...

Still, watching those assholes eat halfway and having to run to their cars was damn shiok, and it made my night. LOL So long suckers!
